New discoveries

I was talking to my parents over lunch about what's been happening to me in school. They like being updated and knowing what's going on around me, and so I enlightened them.

I started by saying how it sucks that not many AECES members are active. That it sucks knowing that people don't even know we've got a room in MVP. That it doesn't feel nice knowing that your batchmates don't even know what OAW is and that it's going on. Of course, I blamed it on dota and such stuff.

So we talked about how many people were active, and my dad said "I'm guessing that the females are more active than the males. Am I right?" I totally agreed. I even said that whenever I'm in one of the EB meetings, you won't even guess that most of the ECE population are male, because in the meetings the ratio of men and women are more or less equal.

From there we began to talk about MVP. Yes, we finally have a room. No, not many people go there. Yes, AECES is totally boring because of the lack of participation on the members' parts. And because we talked about orgs and MVP, the conversation eventually led to CYA, Christ's Youth in Action.

CYA is one of the many outreaches of Ligaya ng Panginoon (LNP), a charismatic group that we are part of. Oh, and I learned just a few moments ago that the full name of CYA is "The Philippine Foundation of Christ’s Youth in Action, Inc." which is too long. Hahaha.

I told my dad the other night that we were rebuilding CYA in Ateneo, that we've got an unofficial bench in Kostka by the infirmary and that eventually we WOULD (Yes, we would!) have a room in MVP. I told him about how CYA used to have a room in Colayco, where the MVP now stands, and why CYA - AdMU was dissolved. Why, oh why, did everyone (well, most, at least) io CYA-AdMU have to graduate all at the same time!?

Anyway, my dad told me that it would be great if we finally have a room in MVP. It would be a good venue for recruiting members, so he said. I told him that, yes, it probably would. Then he told me that I could probably recruit those who are in AECES.

Hmmm... That got me thinking. I remembered that many people in my block were part of YFC but were not active, and I told him that.

Then he told me... YFC is under CFC... which is under LNP. And I just stared at him.

He went on and explained about how CFC used to be just an outreach of Ligaya, but that the leaders of the two groups had some sort of disagreement, and so CFC drifted away from Ligaya and formed their own group.

After lunch, I went straight to the pc and searched on google, and I found this:

"Not many outside of Ligaya know that Ligaya established the now famous or infamous Couples for Christ, depending on the politician you know. It was meant to be an outreach for married couples but some years back, the vision Ligaya had for Couples for Christ and the vision of the leaders of the Couples for Christ diverged in separate ways.As a result, there was acrimony.

Pride and prejudice got in the way and like a doomed father-son relation, the two groups became ships passing through the night. Over the years, Couples for Christ grew in strength, drawing people to Christ and by choice, became a national political force while Ligaya remained simple and true to its name to be a joy and light to others.

I share my community in the blogosphere because very recently, the two communities have reconciled with each other. For some time, their silent hostility was a blot to our evangelical calling to spread the good news. Now, the leaders of Ligaya ng Panginoon and Couples for Christ have asked forgiveness from one other. The reconciliation has ended the hidden shame and both bodies can boldly lay claim to be true disciples of Christ."

CFC and Ligaya reconcilled on Ligaya's 30th anniv. I was there. I was in that celebration, and I didn't even know!!! Talk about not paying attention.

Hmmm... That article is so biased. Hahaha! It was written by a member of Ligaya, and I reread it. The line that says "Ligaya remained simple and true to its name to be a joy and light to others" is just soooo biased. Hahaha!

Anyhow, so you YFC people are under us CYA people! Bow down before me!!! Bwahahahaha!
